- Description
- In partnership with local communities settled in the buffer zone of Manu National Park, this project focuses on restoration of the degraded high Andean forest landscapes in the Challabamba district northeast of Cusco, Peru. The area hosts a diverse variety of specialized ecosystems, including high altimontane pluvial yungas, Andean scrublands, and Puna Húmeda scrublands. In the Challabamba montane forest, ACCA leads the Andean Bear conservation project to study the species' movement patterns, diets, and climate change impacts, while Acción Andina restores the Andean forests to protect this endangered species' habitat.
